I will be brief because it's been a stressful day with Jonah's EEG. As I wrote about 2 weeks ago, our son is 3 years old and has been discovered to have cerebellar atrophy, which we are still trying to get to the root of for a diagnosis and prognosis.
Today, I want to point out a news article about Orange County, Florida schools (Orlando and surrounding areas) taking an extremely cautious view of the new “don't say gay” (“Parental Rights in Education”) law. This is exactly what we said would happen! They have allegedly warned elementary LGBTQ+ teachers to remove any photos with their significant others from the classroom and to not mention their home life to students, among other prohibitions on wearing rainbow lanyards or buttons, displaying “safe space” stickers, et cetera. These restrictions appear to exceed the text of the new law, but the law is sufficiently vague and the Republicans are sufficiently vindictive that at least one school district thought these new restrictions were necessary.
In Florida, the governor appoints the Commissioner of Education, who oversees teacher and administrator professional practices investigations and hearings against the licenses of teachers, principals, and other educators. Often, these investigations originate from students, parents/guardians, or other members of the public who complain about alleged teacher misconduct to their school principal or district superintendent. The Educator Code of Conduct is extremely broad, considering teachers to be public figures entrusted with our children. Therefore, even postings on social media and conduct outside one's employment as an educator can be held against you. Thus, career-damaging or even career-ending consequences for educators who do not sufficiently prostrate themselves to the Republican agenda are not out of the question.
Sanctions against educator licenses are published in an online database included in today's Notes.

Let me begin with I am praying for your son Jonah's better health outcome and strength to you and your wife as his loving parents.
The new DeSantisStand don't say gay law for school districts is Dictator DeSantis strict rule to disinfect the LGBTQ population of Florida. If not completely irradiating Florida's gay population all together.
Voters of Florida or DeSantisStand Dictator DeSantis is forming a pretty obvious rotten autocratic rule with the help of the GOP and to some fault the media. Don't let this happen. Vote Blue 22 to keep Florida the sunshine state.
Don't waste your life on these politics anymore because politics won't get you in heaven. The most important thing is to spend time with God because only God can help Jonah, not politics. God will instruct you on how to look at these things so you don't fall into Satan's trap. Love. Pray for Jonah.
